For a long time, the teacher had been nurturing the intention to walk the pilgrimage to visit the four sacred sites of the Buddha. In a previous video, the teacher shared that if there is a connection, he also wanted to go to the land of the Buddha and pay respects.
Around November, the teacher returned to Gia Lai to fulfill his vow to beg for alms as promised to his relatives. However, a large number of Buddhists gathered, hoping to pay respects and meet the teacher. Due to the overwhelming number of people, the teacher had to abandon his austere practice and no longer went on alms rounds, accepting whatever offerings people gave him. The teacher also wrote a letter with his heartfelt wish to embark on a pilgrimage to the land of the Buddha.
In the letter, the teacher wrote:
"I wish to go to India, the land of the Buddha, to pay respects at the four sacred sites, to learn, and to express my gratitude to the Buddha. If anyone knows the procedures, the paperwork, or can guide me on the path, I sincerely thank you. My wish is to travel alone, without causing any inconvenience to anyone."
Around the same time, Mr. Lê Khả Giáp, who had previously walked across 13 countries, expressed his desire to accompany the teacher to India. At the same time, Dr. Đoàn Văn Báu, a former security lecturer and someone who had supported the teacher through many videos, also came to meet and voluntarily offered to help the teacher with the paperwork.
Thus, the auspicious causes and conditions came together. On December 12, 2024, the pilgrimage group set off from Cửa Khẩu Bờ Y, with the following members:
Đoàn Văn Báu
Lê Khả Giáp
Xuân Lam (A Vietnamese living in Laos)
Anh Ngân (A police officer from Laos)
The monks in the group included:
Thầy Minh Tuệ
Thầy Minh Tạng
Thầy Chơn Chí
Thầy Minh Trí
Thầy An Lạc
Thầy Vô Sanh
The group began their journey with deep reverence and gratitude towards the Buddha and the sacred sites.
